Google Christmas Present 2007
Given the time of the year I didn’t think it was actually possible to forget about Christmas but this morning (buried deep in a business proposal) I did exactly that. That was until the mornings post arrived. Thanks to Google (did I really just say that?) I was quickly reminded that the season for giving truly is in full swing.
This year, Google’s present comes in the form of a swanky looking credit card shaped 2GB USB wallet shaped thingy majig. Admittedly It looks a little precarious dangling from the side of my laptop and I doubt that it’s practical for everyday use but it’s a nice twist on the usual promo sticks that I seem to be collecting these days. The shape and form is ideal for carrying around in your wallet in case of emergencies.

Call me Scrooge but I can’t help wonder whether or not this year I’ve slipped down a few ranks on the Google ladder? In 2006 the Digital Photo Frame went down a storm. In 2005 I was sent a whole load of Google branded gadgets (including USB stick). And this year, well, just a flimsy usb stick. Hmmm, maybe Google socks for me next year?
What did Google send you?

I wonder what I’m going to get. Last year I also got the digital photo frame. But this year I’ve serverly cut back on my ppc so I don’t know if I’ll get a usb wallet too??
Hey Lee, I believe Google send the same gifts out each year to both adwords and adsense publishers so you might get 2 bites of the cherry :)
Nice, obviously mine’s stuck in the post! Anyone ever got anything from Yahoo or MSN (or do I have to call it Live now?)?
Received mine today and just blogged about it too. Also received the photo frame last year.
Did you get a radio+mood light thingy the other year?
@ Gadget - Have never received anything in the post but our Yahoo and MSN reps normally come over in person and drag us to the pub for a few mulled wines ;)
@ John, I had completely forgotten about the mood light radio! Unfortunately, I never got one of those but I do remember being very jealous at the time. Was that the first present they sent out? I can’t think of any others.
@ Paul, erm I’m not sure. I’ve missed some …presumably ‘cos I spend enough in adwords !
..and that should be *didnt* spend enough!
I got a Holiday card from Google today, but no present yet :(
The last 2 years of have gotten two gifts each year. Last year I got 2 Digital Photo displays and the year before I got 2 Laptop accessory kits.
Hopefully, I will get a present this year as I spent over 60K with Adwords this year and have made almost 150K with Adsense, which is more than my previous 2 years combined.
I sure hope I don’t just get a card, as I really look forward to my Google present each year! Plus, I always give the second gift away for Christmas.
Happy Holidays to One and All!
I did get a gift from Google… I just never saw the package. Quite an interesting way to package a product. I also received the 2 Gig Flashdrive credit card, which is pretty neat. Plus they are donating money to the school of my choice through DonorsChoose.org.
VERY COOL!
Nothing from Google for me but then I can’t see I’ve done a lot of work with them this year so probably not in their top ten list.
Maybe next year…
hey guys how much should i earn from my website to receive a google present?
Funny thing. I got that google cardboard box in the mail today and it was empty! It had the card for the school donation but no flashdrive.
can someone tell?please? you have to earn more than 2k / month?
I am not positive, but it seems they are sending the gifts to Adword users (people that pay them) and just cards to Adsense users. In the past they sent 2 presents if you had both accounts. They probably feel that they are already paying you if you are displaying Adsense ads, so a card is enough.
but even if i am at the begining? i feel that i won’t receive any present :D and i was exited when i found out that google is offering gifts..
Nothing this year, last year the Digital Photo Frame. Why??
:-(

Nothing. :-(
Not even a card.
