Regional Affiliate Get2Gether – Bristol 23rd Feb 2005

Only 2 weeks into the year and already there’s an affiliate get2gether in the pipeline (fantastic!). You have to love these events, not many people “really” understand affiliate marketing if truth be told so to get a couple of hundred industry bods all under one roof is definitely something not to be missed.

If you can find your way over to Bristol on the 23rd of February and you are the type of person who likes to network then all that’s left to do is sign up here…

Unlike the specific network events, the regional and annual a4u get2gethers really bring together individuals from all sectors of affiliate marketing. Naturally we have the affiliates (ranging from small fry to the big hitter), there are representatives from all the major affiliate networks, a number of merchants promoting their independent programs and of course agency folk like myself whom I guess you could say work with all of the above.

On paper it sounds as if all the attendees are there to help one another and to take affiliate marketing forward a notch but sadly it’s never quite as innocent as it should be. If you have the strength to drag yourself away from the obligatory free bar and position yourself amongst the thick of the action you’ll see a different picture. Often there’s a fair chunk of rivalry between the networks, a whole load of grooming when it comes to looking after the top affiliates and of course a scramble to hunt down merchants looking dip their toe into the world of affiliate marketing. Should this put you off? Of course not, this is prime networking territory and there’s a vast amount of talking to be done, exciting things to learn, interesting people to meet and a bucket load of fun to be had.
