Part of my role here at Mediaedge is to continually review competitor affiliate programmes and benchmark our own clients against industry standards. This morning I was doing just that and was taking a look at the Hewlett Packard affiliate programme on TD when I spotted this little beauty…

There are many exciting benefits for affiliates partnering with the Hewlett Packard program including a restricted keyword policy, a 90 day cookie and an expansive product feed

I’m sorry? Run that by me again? Yep, that’s right, you too can benefit from a restricted keyword policy. Made me chuckle anyway.

    I had a chuckle at first too but maybe they are selling it from the point of view that there won’t be any brand bidders overwriting your cookies?

      I hear where you’re coming from – protecting the true content guys etc. It’s a bit of a weird way to sell that in as a benefit though. I’m sure there’s plenty of other benefits they could have plugged.
