It’s Thanksgiving over in the states and for affiliates that means big business as it signifies the start of the christmas retail boom. On the 23rd of November was Black Friday (so called as retailers witness a surge in profits putting their bank balance ‘in the black’) and in less than 24 hours we’ll be deep into Cyber Monday where shoppers return to work but continue their shopping spree online.
Affiliates have naturally been very active during this period, posting up last minute deals and offers supplied by merchants. All affiliates apart from those on Commission Junction that is! As shopping reached it’s peak on Friday the first mention of CJ outages seems to have appeared on DigitalPoint, then quickly spread and was picked up by affiliate blogs and of course our very own a4u affiliate forums.
For affiliates not to be able to log in, pick up links, grab creative and find deals at such a crucial time is a big deal. But where was the notice from CJ? A simple announcement of system status would have sufficed, maybe even a polite “we’re working on it” message in their own a4u forum?.
Hopefully tracking hasn’t been disrupted because a heck of a lot can happen during 24 hours, especially at such a crucial time of the year.
