Back from the blogging abyss

Back from the blogging abyss

March 6, 2009  |  General

No it’s not your eyes playing tricks on you, I am actually back from the depths of the blogging abyss and boy does it feel weird. It’s been a massive 7 months since my last post, which was written way back in June 08. Why the long absence?

Well, back in June, for those that don’t know already I switched companies and changed job. For reasons I’ll explain I had to put the whole blogging on pause while I made the transition.

In my new role as the Affiliate Marketing Director for Mediaedge:cia I’m responsible for development and integration of their affiliate product between departments and offices, managing the UK affiliate team and of course implementing affiliate marketing strategies across a broad spectrum of clients. It’s a fantastic challenge and one that has kept me busy quite literally form the moment I wake to the moment I sleep.

It’s been a hectic 7 months and anybody who knows me has probably had a hard time getting hold of me. Not because I’ve left affiliate marketing as some of you had thought but because I’m quite literally running from meeting to meeting, traveling up and down the country, hosting all sorts of workshops and laying the foundations for a new department. All this has lead to very little time to do what I like most, shooting the breeze and talking about all things affiliate here at FishandClicks.

Those of you that have curiously managed to find your way back here after such a long time may have even noticed that the whole blog has had a face lift. Those with eagle eyes might have even noted the added functionality sprinkled here and there. Well after blowing the cobwebs off the blog, updating all the plugins and upgrading the software what was left was a rather sad looking, badly neglected and in some cases broken website. It just didn’t seem right to begin blogging again in such a state. So in line with the new job role and fresh slice of motivation here’s the new bog to match.

It’s good to be back, so what have I missed?

Thanks
